About this Living Lab
- Creative space
The executive functions of our brain are quickly restored when entering green spaces. Collaboration, discussions and problem solving are also enhanced in natural surroundings. In Outdoor Innovation Space, we take advantage of this, by facilitating creativity and innovation for businesses.
- Anywhere, anytime – and free
The innovative aspect of the Outdoor Innovation Space is that it is not tied to a certain space – the key is to use a suitable green space close by: a park, a yard, a forest area. It is very cost efficient, always open and will bring positive effects both for business development and generally for health and wellbeing.

Our target group are businesses where the core work demands executive brain functions, problem solving skills, analytical thinking, innovation and creativity skills as well as co-creation and communication.

Explore our tools
We are working on a region model for outdoor office activities in Ostrobothnia, Finland. The model will be co-created with the target group and other stakeholders and will be ready in late 2026.

The Outdoor Innovation Space administered by Centria University of Applied Sciences is funded by the European Social Fund 2025-2026 through the project “Innovativa lösningar för framtidens kontor”, after this facilitation services will be available through Centria UAS.
